dental woes.

baby blue bands!

It sure do like regular looking braces on teeth, wait till you see this.

i have this lethal-looking rubber band ACROSS my teeth.

HOW DO I EAT IN THIS? :( I seriously thought that my orthodontist was joking when she started to teach me how to put these on. I mean, I can’t even talk properly now because there is this rubber band across my mouth and I HAVE to take it out when I eat because there is no way I can put a piece of food across it.

And now, my mouth is sore and my teeth is hurting real bad.

ROARS.

School’s out, parties in!

December 1, 2009 by tohjingting

reggie & marketing.

My last day of paper and Reggie’s nice enough to snuggle up besides me while I mugged for it. Good, fat and lazy cat, I adore! (:

Straight after marketing paper, Josh drove us to Vivocity to get present for Bridget.

i love the light bulbs!

We cam-whored a little while waiting for XL to get her eyeliner exchange and the sales lady took a LONG time trying to settle it.

After getting the present, we headed down to Bridget’s 21st birthday party at Coral Village Bistro.

on the way!

finding our way there!

We found the place and made our way up to the restaurant.

signing the guest book!

bridget and our presents! (:

DJ in the house!

the whole bunch of us!

We hung out and ate dinner while waiting for the next programme to start. I was glad that I went for this party despite not having enough sleep previous night because of all the mugging. I managed to catch up with Claudio who we spent little time with during the school semester and he never fails to tickle us with his jokes.

After dinner, it was games times and the first game was musical chairs but instead of chairs, guys were used instead. And Josh was evil enough to volunteer and in turn, I dragged him along with him.

the game.

After this, I decided to retreat back into the dark room so that I could avoid playing games of the same genre as the ‘musical chair’.

It was cake-cutting time and they brought out this huge gorgeous cake which was baked by one of Bridget’s friend.

birthday cake!

butter cake with strawberry icing.

three weedies!

i have weird friends.

we were crazy enough to take photos in the car for more than 20 shots.

After the party, we were convinced by XL to try out this dessert shop as it sells awesome dessert and it’s in Bugis so we figured out that it would not take us long to reach there.

lady gaga!

On our quest to find the dessert stall.

fooling around with the sunroof!

We got lost under XL’s brilliant sense of direction. :) We were cruising around Bugis for 25 minutes and we still could not find the dessert shop! It took 5 minutes for Claudio to get to the place and we ended up taking more than 30 minutes to reach the place! And the funniest part was we were along some road towards and we were panicking because we need to U-turn before we reached Bukit Timah district. So we spotted this left turn road into Mackenzie Road.

And Josh was like:

‘I think we should turn into it because Mackenzie Road sounds like it is a town name.’

So we turned left into Mackenzie Road and we were pretty stoked because we thought that we found our way back to town.

To our horror, we drove on and the road ended with a roundabout and we ended up on the same road we were driving on! THE SAME ROAD TOWARDS BUKIT TIMAH. So we drove on the same road TWICE and decided to do a U-turn further down the road.

Finally, after checking the street directory, we managed to find that street and we realised that we drove past that lane like 3 times? We were elated that we found the street and we just drove into the first lane which reads liang seah street and to our dismay, it was an one way traffic with 2 lanes and this taxi driver who was driving towards us (the correct direction) and he was giving that ‘wtf’ face when he drove past us. HAHA.

mango and pomelo with ice cream!

Finally, we reached and hence 5 guys and 2 girls began to tuck into their well-deserved desserts at 11.45pm.

That’s about it for my post exams activities, and there’s more to come. :D

Off to my dental appointment now!

Lie to me.

November 27, 2009 by tohjingting

Recently, I am addicted to this drama series called ‘Lie to Me’ notwithstanding with the fact that it is my exam period right now. It is not that I do not want to study but somehow I can’t get those marketing concepts into my head. Probably I blocked out most of them when I last touched my business management book properly back in high school 3 years ago.

All those terms and concepts look oh so familiar and I can’t help but think back how fun business classes were back then with Alric. We talked about everything under the sun just except the business theories taught in the book. We just had so much digressing and probing so much about the poor man’s life as a single man. Anyway, this made me realised how fast I am growing and soon, I will be stepping into adulthood and claiming responsibility as an adult.

I am so going to miss school albeit disliking exams and crazy rush of assignments through the semester.

Alright, back to my marketing notes and mock papers. :(

And I swear the Macdonalds cheeseburger I had for tea time is swimming in my tummy and it’s making me really uncomfortable. I should stop eating junk food. I am so swearing them off for a long time.

GROANS.

16 hours till liberations.

Gratitude.

it makes me wonder,

do you still have your mooncake box?

(:

Should I? Or should I not?

November 23, 2009 by tohjingting

It must be exam stress. I am thinking whether if I should cut bangs.

I still remember telling myself that I will kill myself if I ever have bangs again but I am kind of bored of my current hairstyle.

with bangs!

And this is like one of the decent photos I can find in my iphoto.

But oh well, I shall see after my exams! I can’t wait for saturday to arrive! :)

seaport!

While I was looking through the photo album, I saw this really gorgeous picture of a seaport in some parts of China that I have been during my winter vacation. I love how the sun rays were peeking out of the clouds and shining on the sea and ships on the water. It somehow represents a glimpse of hope in a bleak setting.

Okay, random random. I have to go mug for my second paper for the week. :(

motivate me to study please.

November 20, 2009 by tohjingting

Though my first paper is in 3 days times, I still don’t have the motivation to study. Probably the 20 plus worth of readings with almost 20-30 pages each (okay some are 10 over pages but still they are enough to put me to sleep and I would trade kafka’s book or any world lit books for this) are not appealing enough for me to read them.

However, the consolation is that I know the skeleton of the module which involves with cultural goods and its industry and how digitalization has affected its flow of cultural prospect and of course, the adorno’s theory.

Now,  I need to cram like the examples and clear all the doubts I have throughout the whole course but I am just procrastinating. Ugh. Anyway, I uploaded some of my pictures from my blackberry and I am too bored to study so I decided to put them on here.

vincent and his pawn shop!

V was sitting besides me and we were like looking through some photos on facebook and suddenly he commented, ‘omg, she looks like she works in the pawn shop.’

I turned and stared at him. ‘What? Her? Porn shop? Seriously?’

He went (with his eyes wide opened) and went on scribbling something on his econs paper and said ‘NO! I mean like p-a-w-n shop and pawn and porn shop are TWO different things.’

And I can’t help but laughed at his incredulous face and we went on with our usual business of ‘omg-ing and eww-ing’ about the photos.  Now you see why he’s like one of my good friends I made in camp.

overflowing sink?

This is what I saw when I went into one of my school’s toilet. The water was like practically leaking from the sink top and onto the floor. I mean seriously how much water is wasted due to someone’s negligence? I know I have issue with this tap, once you press it, it will go on forever but all you need is just a little tug of the tap and it will stop.

Tsk.

milo truck!

Oh yes, the milo truck! You know the glee on everyone’s face who holds a bright green milo cup walking around campus is priceless. I mean, who doesn’t like free milo? I have to say the milo from the milo truck tasted wayyyy better than the milo sold in school. I wouldn’t mind paying for the milo from the milo truck. It is that GOOD.

Anyway, this little cup of wholesomely liquid is worth walking down to Central when you’re at AS 7. For those who doesn’t know NUS, AS 7 and the Central Library is from one end to the other and it takes like approximately 5-8 minutes for a person to walk at a normal speed to reach the location. And NUS is not people friendly with all the crazy amount of stairs and basically stairs.

union city: fashion show

We have a fashion show at Central Forum like a couple of months ago and boy, I just saw there as an audience because I had time to spare back then. And free swensen ice cream were given out that day too. NUSSU is definitely doing a good job for sponsers, I guess. Anyway, I was not very impressed by the fashion show, probably I watched too much Project Runway and my standard for such genre of competition is higher than expected? Anyway, Project Runway Finale tonight! Tonight! And oh you know why there were so many people behind, they were queuing for the ice cream, hence explained for the massive number of people around the forum.

storm's rolling in.

This picture was taken when I went fishing with my dad and mom with the intention of wanting to get a real tan. And this was what I get. When I saw the dark clouds rolling in and lightning lighting up the sky, I thought to myself ‘there goes my tan’ but to my horror, I did not know that I would be drenched even under shelter. Thanks to the howling winds and pelting rain. I ended up wet and cold rather than toasty and tan. :( Oh well.

with my dearest boyfriend!

This was taken with boyfriend on the way to Tampines Mall for a dinner with his family. Yes, Tampines Mall. I thought I won’t venture to the East or rather Pasir Ris because it’s really far. Like 24 stations from where I live. Anyway, I swear we look like some secondary school couple here. Like seriously.

Anyway, that’s about it and I am off to hit the lecture notes. D:

rain, rain, go away!

November 20, 2009 by tohjingting

The rain’s annoying me a little right now.

It could be all sunny and humid and the next thing you know that you have to scramble under some shelter as a blanket or rather waterfall-like of water will pour down mercilessly on you.

It doesn’t help when you’re trying to study in the library and it’s pouring outside. The combination of the whistling sounds of the rain and the cozy atmosphere of the library would be a perfect lullaby for people like me who think that sleeping excessively is a great habit that no one should kick cos we love sleep more than anything else. Just like how a fat kid loves his cakes.

Anyway, not just that, having to walk to the cafeteria from the library could be a chore when you end up with soaking or wet feet (if you’re wearing slippers) and get a pair of cold feet (literally!). It is not funny anymore if a guy just walked besides you and the next thing you know he fell right besides you and nearly spilled his lunch all over the floor.

After witnessing it, I so wanted to get myself a pair of wellies and not worry about cold feet and falling down. And imagine yourself wading in a pair of knee length rubber boots and just walking normally (not cautiously) while others are trying to minimize the splashing of the dirty rain water on their pants, skirts or calves.

And finally, while I was looking through UO website and I saw this pair of babies:

simple and comfy!

I mean this pair of wellies could shield you from all the dirty rain water on the floor and keep your feet warm! And you can pair this with a pair of jeans and a simple tank top or a cute summer dress with a cardigan and throw on a scarf of vibrant colors to keep yourself warm. It’s black, so it’s kind of easy to mix and match.

cute.

Isn’t it cute?? (:

Anyway, I think by the time this pair of boots shipped over to Singapore, the monsoon season will be over. And plus, I am not sure about wearing a pair of rain boots when it rains but what if the weather becomes all humid and warm again? It is going to be so weird to walk around in it.

Oh well. Sometimes I wish I live in Shanghai, you can wear anything and not feel out of place.

Then again, EXAMS!! :(

Climbing up the Hill.

November 17, 2009 by tohjingting

This is what I saw when I opened my NUS email:

Dear Jing Ting,

CongratulationsJ

You have been selected for the six-month internship program with Hill & Knowlton, to start from 4th Jan to 18th June 2010.

Please let us know your acceptance for the offer by 19th November 2009.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thank you and best regards.

I am speechless when I saw this email after my dinner. I just went for the interview this morning and I did not expect Mr Wong to accept me as an intern that readily! Anyway, my graduation plan is on the right track now. Complete this internship and graduate by Dec 2010 and just in time for boyfriend’s honour’s graduation too. :D I am stoked. And I can’t believe the cnm department actually inserted a smiley face behind the word ‘congratulation’. Seriously.

Now, I have to think of ways on how to reject Fleishman’s attempt to arrange an interview with me after my examinations. Hmm.

I can’t wait for holidays to come! Road trips!!! <3

28th November, hurry along!

when the birds chirp.

November 11, 2009 by tohjingting

this is what I see.

IMG_0125

my 2 babies! (:

Whenever birds start to chirp outside my window, you could hear 2 figures scrambling at a LIGHTNING speed onto the bed nearest to the window. 2 of them would stick their heads and rest their heads on the window grills to look at the birds. As you can see, the fat cat on the right, could not even bother to pull the curtains apart and place himself at a more comfortable position as compared to the skinny one on the left.

His oh so glutton-ly actions just made my day. (:

Then again, exams are in 2 weeks. :(
